All our protein skimmers come COMPLETE with water
pump (or can be purchased less pump), hoses, clamps, fittings, ball
and gate valves, cup drain kit, and a very efficient venturi air
injector system with the Constant Venturi Cleaning setup. These
skimmers can be installed externally, in sump, or as stand alone
(run off and return to aquarium). Special keyhole shaped screw holes
on the VS3 Series allow complete skimmer take-apart capability but
is NOT required for efficiency. The FLANGED versions also allow the
installation of an EXTENSION TUBE to increase the protein skimmer
height if needed and space permits. These skimmers will hook up to
any type of sump, in-sump, stand-alone, or directly off aquariums

Foams are cut slighly oversize at 14" x 5 3/8". This is for new sumps.
Measure your sump chamber and note on order form as there are other
sizes slightly different.
ppi, below, means "Pores per inch", the number of pores or holes per
inch in the foam with 10 being the largest pores and 30 being the
finest.
It is best to layer foam with coarsest on top and finer ppi below.
This allows the foams to collect more particulate matter before
needing cleaning.
Clean by running under water, squeezing, rinsing, repeat until clean
and put back in sump.
If you want other thickness please note on order form otherwise they
are cut flat/wavy and thicknesses as noted below.
